Weight: grams (g; 1 g = 0,035 oz), kilograms (kg; 1 kg = 2,2 lbs), tons
Liquid: milliliters (ml; 1 ml = 0,034 oz), deciliters (dl; 1 dl = 3,38 oz), liters (l; 1 l = 33,8 oz = 0,26 gal)
Distance: meters (m; 1 m = 3,28 ft = 1,09 yd), kilometers (km; 1 km = 0,62 mi)
Time
Preferred time format in the Czech Republic is 24-hour clock but 12-hour clock is also sometimes used. The Czech Republic belongs to time zone UTC +1, winter and summer time is used. On the last Sunday in March, clocks are set one hour ahead; on the last Sunday in October, clocks are turned back one hour. The date is written as day/month/year.
Electricity, adapters
In the Czech Republic we use voltage of 220–240 Volts at frequency of 50 Hz and our plug sockets have two round holes and one round pin. If your appliance's plug doesn't match the shape of the socket, you will need a plug adapter in order to plug in. If your electronics (like hair dryers, irons or some tools) is built for different voltage (e.g. 110–120 V commonly used in the USA) you may also need voltage transformer. Mobile phones or laptops chargers are usually 100–240V compatible – a plug adapter should be sufficient.
